Just gave a webinar on tips for successful change, mostly about keeping it simple.  Then fielded a complaint mistakenly equating simplicity with overly simplistic or dumbing things down. 

Why so complicated?  I know our brains love intricacies and puzzles, elegant analyses, and our uncanny knack for nestling deep problems with a million nuanced causes.

But do our mental gyrations really get to the heart?

People lose weight if they use smaller plates.  401(k) participation skyrockets with automatic opt-in.  Malaria plummets when people get free mosquito nets.  Same with cholera and clean water.  Easy access to medication and therapy relieves depression.  Touch screens, 1-click services and intuitive designs sell. ...
